What We are Testing For?

A blower door is a machine used to measure the airtightness of buildings. It can also be used to measure airflow between building zones, to test ductwork airtightness and to help physically locate air leakage sites in the building envelope. Here at All SPAR Home Solutions we are using our test equipment for “code compliance”. In NYS it is required of all new construction homes to be tested for air tightness of no more than 3 air changes per hour. We are focusing our efforts in code compliance and NOT energy auditing. We are not a contractor. This means we will not do any of the repair work associated with increasing your energy performance.

About Our Blower Door

We use a Retrotec 5100 – blower door system. The 5100 series is equipped to handle any type of residential or small commercial building. It has the ability to test using depressurization or pressurization using the same equipment in different configurations. It is one of the most popular among energy auditors, HVAC technicians, and home inspectors across the US. With the ability to fully automate a test we can be in and out to keep your job moving!
